are dvd extras a thing of the past?

I remember buying Twister, MIB and the Matrix on DVD and came LOADED with extras like behind the scenes, making of documentary, or cast and crew commentary, now it seems newer dvds only include the movie and maybe a trailer

It’s a sucker play for your money. They know people will go buy the DVD right away upon release.

Like Avatar did. No extras.

Then they can put together another DVD set a year or 2 down the road and get you to buy it again. That one will have some extras.

Like Avatar is going to do.

Then in a few years, there will be a 3rd version on DVD and they will then release “lost footage”

Hollywood sucks and they are greedy.
