Party Planning 101: How to Create an Amazing Baby Shower Party

New mom parties are the perfect way to show appreciation, love, and friendship to any expectant mother.  With her family and friends around her, she begins to feel a little less overwhelmed at the prospect of having a new baby.  Even better is when she is given all of the things that she needs to arrange the nursery so she’s 100% ready for the baby’s arrival. A baby shower is also a great way to get the girls together for a fun time of laughing and goofing around.

Great Baby Shower Gifts to Get Mom Ready

If you are the friend or loved one throwing the party, be sure your new mom has either enrolled at a local store or online site to help your guests know what she would like as gifts.  Another option to this would be for her to make a list of what she would like to have, perhaps a baby bedding set, a Graco baby swing, or even a infant car seat. Specify the decor she has in mind in the invitations and let the guests take it from there! If she needs a Baby Trend car seat, make sure that you ask for one that grows with the baby. If she needs a stroller, {suggest|recommend|advise} to the guests several types that will {allow|make it easy} for the baby car seat to be set on it for easy transitioning from the car to the stroller. A baby activity center is an especially useful gift because it lets mom to do things while the little one is being rocked. The most convenient kinds are those that have a carrier that detaches.

Basic Games to Play

Baby showers are known for their quirkiness and silly games.  One game that is particularly popular is “Don’t Say That Word” such as “baby” or “girl” or “boy”.  Another popular one is a game involving baby food where the guests taste test various flavors of jarred food and try to guess what fruit or vegetable it is. A game that’s truly popular as well is to pass a diaper around, similar to musical chairs, and inside of the diaper is a spoonful of warm chocolate frosting. This one is sure to get tons of laughs from the party guests!  Don’t forget prizes for the winning players; it is suggested that you choose girly gifts like scented bath accessories, fresh baskets of flowers or plants, gift certificates, or a gift bag full of something themed such as “everything for a pedicure”.

Basic Décor for the Shower

Decorations are always suggested, because they set the joyous vibe for the entire party.  If you don’t know the gender of the baby, choose neutrals that would suit either sex.  This approach creates a light and happy color theme!  The cake can even serve as a decoration; add tiny plastic clothes pins and diapers, etc. that can be purchased from a discount party supplier.  They add originality to the cake as well as to the theme of the party.
The best showers offer the new mom everything she will need for her new baby. The celebration is also a perfect opportunity for friends and family to encourage her and laugh and have fun. Few things are better than a baby shower being the best party the attendees have ever been to!
